AMERICAN TOWMAN EXPOSITION SETTING THE STANDARD WITH
“THE MAIN EVENT” FOR THE TOWING INDUSTRY

For over 21 years the American Towman Exposition has become the standard for the towing and recovery industry to which all others are compared. Produced by American Towman Magazine, the Main Event has developed its marketing programs to deliver the highest quality audience of towing professionals to Baltimore.
It was never more evident than last year – with a severe economic downturn abounding – that a record number of tow bosses flocked to the Inner Harbor for AT Expo ‘s 20th anniversary.

“We were, once again, very pleased with the floor traffic along with the number of decision-makers who visited our booth during this past show. The American Towman staff is to be commended for their efforts and attention to detail that has led to such phenomenal growth and success of the event. We look forward to returning this year!”
Randy Olson, Miller Industries

“Kalyn Siebert has been going to AT Expo for several years. We would not be coming if the Expo did not produce results. All during the year we get calls from people who attended and are now needing equipment. We plan on attending AT EXPO for years to come.”
Wesley Chandler, Kalyn Siebert
SIZE MATTERS
The size of today’s tow fleet has grown to where a tow business owner is running more than seven trucks in his operation. AT Expo attracts a blend of large and small truck operators to the show floor.
1-7 trucks 54%
8-16 34%
17+ 12%
NATION’S LARGEST TOW MARKET
AT Expo brings professional towers from all over the Eastern portion of the U.S., the nation’s most densely populated tow market. More than 70% range from New England to Virginia while the remaining areas of the country comprise 28% of the show visitors. A steady 2% comes from overseas.

A MELTING POT OF TRUCKS
Tow businesses today operate a mixture of truck sizes ranging from Class 3 up to Class 8 rigs. Light-duty wreckers are the mainstay of more than 80% of the attendees while medium-duty (Class 6-7) rollbacks and wreckers are being driven by two-thirds of towers.
The heavy duty rotator/wrecker, virtually a dream of many just a few years ago, has now grown to over 10% of towers in attendance.
Light-Duty trucks 85%
Medium-Duty 67%
Heavy-Duty 49%
Heavy-Duty Tractors 27%
Transport 37%
Rotator 10%
NEW CUSTOMERS & FAMILIAR FACES
AT Expo has drawn attendees to Baltimore in record numbers, but what makes the show unique is the mixture of new customers and familiar faces. More than 28% of last year’s crowd were attending the show for the first time. That’s more than one out of every four towers experiencing their inaugural Main Event.
With over 70% coming back to Baltimore again, it gave exhibitors the face-to-face opportunity to see existing customers, well-known potential customers and the all important new business contacts.
Our first at the “American Towman Exposition” was a great success.
Patrick Nahoum, Nation Safe Drivers

“There was a good turnout and we got to meet many new people and became re-acquainted with old friends and customers. Most of them I never get to see except at the show. Once again, good job and keep up the good work.”
John Baggett, Kemp Mfg.

“We at SuperSprings were first-time exhibitors at the American Towman Expo. The response we had from attendees as well as exhibitors was tremendous for business. The friendliness of this close-knit niche market will have us back for more next year.”
Gerry Lamberti, SuperSprings International
